Georgina Musgrave: BIG RED

Slutty, silly, gay, and stupid – this is Big Red.

Georgina Musgrave brings a new, character-drag comedy to Edinburgh Fringe for its UK debut. Equal
parts John Waters filth and Eastenders shock factor, this show-within-a-show addresses lesbianism,
kink, drugs, mental illness, and the messy beauty of starting over.

This provocative, semi-autobiographical story follows Big Red, a London wrestler who’s cut their teeth in the, beautifully, trashy Queensland, Australia. Upon realising there’s no worthy opponent left they turn to a more challenging and terrifying art form: stand-up comedy.

With section titles such as ‘Ice Bath Kinks’, ‘Racists on the Tram’, ‘Bath Piss’, and ‘The “Yeah Nah,
Fucken Oath” Song’, this one-woman show is an eclectic (if questionable) mix of stand-up, character-
drag, improvisation, audience participation, and original music by Josh Wilson. Filthy, funny, and
fiercely honest – it’s an hour that’s Too Stand-Up for Drag, Too Drag for Stand-Up.

Butch Femme Press gave it 5 stars, saying: “Musgrave curates an inimitable, three round set of witty quips, audacious storytelling, and physical comedy that left me begging for more”.

Binge Fringe, with their 4 star review, declared: “Rip-roaringly frivolous fun – you’ll find it hard not to leave this with a beaming smile on your face.”

Georgina Musgrave is a queer, nearly-30, English Australian who spent 10+ years in film and television before coming back to performing in 2024. She is a writer, comedian, and creative producer who imbues their drag, stand-up and projects with their specific blend of absurdity, sardonic observations, and overly energetic story telling. She splits her time between her home city of London and anywhere you want her to be in Australia.
